SWIM LESSONS
The Bristol Family YMCA provides
the highest quality of progressive swimming lessons and water safety
skills as outlined by the National YMCA Swim Program. They focus on the
whole child’s development and growth Spiritually, Mentally and Physically.
In addition, they teach motor, perception, coordination, safety and
endurance skills. Children should register by age. Upon completion of the
first class, children will be moved into appropriate levels. Schedules
are subject to change. Make-up days will be announced by the instructor.

5:30-6:00pm Preschool (3-5yrs)
Children
will learn how to blow bubbles, basic puddle strokes, floating, water
adjustment, treading water, elementary backstroke and much more!
6:10-6:55pm Polliwog (6-12yrs)
A
beginner swim lesson that focuses on skills such as basic water
adjustment, floating, gliding, basic paddle strokes, blowing bubbles and
putting the face in the water and MORE!
6:10-6:55pm Guppy
(6-12yrs)
An
advanced-beginner swim lesson that focuses on skills such as paddle
stroke, front crawl, back paddling and side stroke with a float belt.
Jumping into the pool without a float belt will also be taught in this
level.

7:05-7:50pm Minnow
(6-12yrs)
A
beginner swim team level for children that know 2 of the 4 strokes in
some form (such as freestyle and backstroke). During these lessons,
children will work on further development of freestyle and backstroke as
well as introduce Breastroke and Diving.
7:05-7:50pm Fish (6-12yrs)
An
intermediate swim team level for children that know 3 of the 4 strokes
well. This is normally going to be Freestyle, Backstroke and Breastroke.
This level will consist of refining strokes and diving as well as
introducing the Butterfly stroke.
7:05-7:50pm Adult (13yrs
& older)
For
those adults that fear being around the water and wish to overcome the
fear, or simply to develop a certain stroke; this is the class for you!

EXERCISE SCHEDULE
DEEP WATER AEROBICS
An
aerobic workout in deep water using job belts. The focus is placed on
cardiovascular, toning and endurance.
Tues & Thurs
6:00am - 7:00am
Tues & Thurs 6:30pm - 7:30pm
AQUALITE
An aerobic
workout (cardiovascular), low impact with emphasis on toning and
stretching.
Mon/Wed/Fri 9:00am - 10:00am
ARTHRITIS (AFYAP)
A
water stretching and range of motion class, it offers no cardiovascular
workout; this is in conjunction with the Arthritis Foundation.
