"If you somehow positively impact one child and they get a sense of self and confidence and even just happiness, and they bring that back to their family and their school, camp can affect millions of people."
A Y camp counselor
Camping, like many Y programs, is about learning skills, developing character and making friends. But few environments are as special as camp, where kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group as they engage in physical, social and educational activities. Camping teaches self-reliance, a love for nature and the outdoors, and the development of attitudes and practices that build character and leadership-all amidst the fun of camp fires, bugle calls, canoeing, archery, talent shows, and meaningful relationships. Y counselors are dedicated to making sure camp is an amazing experience for every camper.
Join us outside as we play all day long! Day Camp is a perfect break away from our regular routines. Campers will engage in exciting experiences that will stretch imaginations and build positive values.
Be prepared to get a little sweaty and dirty - fun is found through playing all week long! Daily field trips take us to local area playgrounds and parks, spirited games of bowling, fun and exciting movies, or exploring our local caves. The week would not be complete without trips to our YMCA Outdoor Center where we can swim for hours and explore water activities with kayaks and canoes.
Every day we get to share with each other through camp skits and songs that aid in building friendships. Games at camp keep us active at play all day long while promoting team building. Along with all the fun, we will have a healthy lunch daily for each camper.Location: Bristol Family YMCA

Come away with the Y for a week of fun and adventure in the Cherokee National Forest. Sleeping in cabins, preparing meals over a campfire, exploring nature, and creating friendships to last a lifetime are on the agenda for the week!
A wide range of activities will keep us moving all day long. Mornings are full of discovery by hiking and orienteering through the many acres of forest. Afternoons are spent in the water exploring the creek or tubing down the river. We learn new skills like archery and also create memories of our week with arts and crafts. There are also games between the cabins to help promote team-building and everlasting friendships while having fun. We cannot forget about the traditional flag raising and lowering ceremonies or the evening campfire where we can reflect on the day and share devotionals and snacks.Location: c/o Camp Ahistadi, 9863 Highway 91, Laural Bloomery, TN 37680
