Marcus loves going to the Y to see his "teachers" while mom goes to work. Best of all, mom feels confident her son is in a safe, caring, educational environment that enables him to learn and thrive.
Children are like sponges - they watch and absorb knowledge, skills and values from everything and everyone around them. At the Y, we believe the values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for quality of life and future success. That’s why our afterschool and Child Watch programs are staffed with people who understand the cognitive, physical and social development of kids, the need children have to feel connected and supported in trying new things, and the caring and reinforcement parents and families need to help each other. At the Y, babies develop trust and security, preschoolers experience early literacy and learn about their world, and school-age kids make friends, learn new skills and do homework. Most importantly, children learn how to be their best selves. That makes for confident kids today, and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow.
Come hang out at the Y after school or during the summer afternoons where you can meet friends your own age who may or may not go to your school. Play ping-pong, compete with each other on the latest video game, or just hang out and mingle. Your afternoon is spent your way at the Y.
Get your workout in at the same time as your parents. Join us as we play various sports games such as dodge ball and kick-ball; or just hang out on the Climbing Wall, jump in the Bouncer, or practice your aim with the Sports Wall.
A fun and safe place for children to play while their parents are working out. Climb through the tunnels, produce a puppet show or show your creative side through coloring. Come hang out with us!
