Teen Leaders Club Features Activities, Service Opportunities

Our Teen Leaders Club gives youth an opportunity to learn and cultivate leadership skills, improve their physical fitness, and get involved in the community through weekly club meetings and service activities.

In addition to our weekly offerings, our teens like to give back! Our current service project involves making mats and bags out of grocery bags. We are in need of a LOT of plastic grocery bags!  We will be using them to knit into mats and bags that will be given to the homeless. Please bring your plastic bags to the Y and leave them with the greeter. We are also in need of Y members and community members who know how to single-crochet to come teach our teens how to make “plarn” (plastic yarn) mats. If you are interested in participating, please contact Teen Leader Brooke Calhoun at [email protected] or 423-968-3133.

Other upcoming projects include packing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. We are now starting to collect items for the shoeboxes. Click here for a list of those items.

We’ll also be volunteering with Speedway Children’s Charities to help prepare for The Pinnacle Speedway in Lights! More information on this project is coming soon!

The Teen Center is open and supervised every weekday from 2:45 until 6 p.m.
