Governor Lee orders continued closure

To Our Y Family:

Over the last several weeks, the YMCA of Bristol has experienced unprecedented change and uncertainty resulting from the Coronavirus threat. As you know, we made the very difficult but socially-responsible decision to protect the health and safety of our members, staff, and community and closed our facility on March 17, 2020, with the plan to re-open on March 30th after deep cleaning and sanitizing our entire facility. We are now under orders from Governor Lee to remain closed until at least April 6, 2020.

We know that members and the community depend on us for many of their needs including healthy living and youth service programs. We will continue to offer healthy living resources for our members to participate in from the comfort of their own homes. Members can access on-demand exercise classes through the Y360 YouTube ChannelLes Mills, which provides over 95 videos across 8 categories, as well as access to a 60 day free trial of Mossa Move.

Again, thank you for the understanding that we’re all in this together, facing future days in the best ways we know how, knowing things may continue to change on a daily basis.

We will continue to follow the recommendations of the CDC and Sullivan County Health Department but will do our best to open as soon as we can. We hope that you continue to #StayWithUs and partner with us. For the latest updates, visit bristolymca.net or our Facebook page.

Yours in Health,

Rick Matthews
