Facility and Pool Renovations Begin July 15
We are excited to share that major renovations are underway to improve your experience at the YMCA of Bristol, both
inside and outside. These projects are part of our efforts to modernize the facility and enhance comfort, safety and
functionality for all members.
Phase 1: Front Entry and Parking Lot Upgrades
Begins July 15 – Estimated Completion: 3 to 4 Weeks
Work will begin on upgrading the front entrance and parking areas. Access to the front of the building will be
restricted at various times, and members will need to enter through the side alley entrance during this phase.
What’s being improved:
- Resurfaced and improved front entryway
- New, safer hand railings
- Front parking lot seal coated, sprayed and restriped
We appreciate your patience as we enhance the exterior of the YMCA to create a more welcoming first impression.
Phase 2: Pool Renovation and Saltwater Conversion
Begins August 1 – Estimated Duration: 4 to 6 Weeks
Beginning August 1, the indoor pool area will undergo a complete renovation, the first major upgrade in nearly
70 years. During this time the pool, pool deck, men’s steam room and sauna will be closed. All locker rooms and
shower facilities will remain open.
What’s being upgraded:
- New pool surfaces
- Brand new pool deck
- Fresh paint throughout
- Complete plumbing and piping replacement
- Conversion to a modern saltwater pool system
- Additional improvements throughout the area
These upgrades will elevate the look and feel of the pool, improve water quality and reduce maintenance, creating a
better swimming experience for everyone.
