Goals are important.  SMART goals are even better.

What’s a SMART goal?  I’m so glad you asked!

SMART goals are small parts of long-term goals.

A SMART goal is:

S – Specific.  Make your goal as clear as possible.

M – Measurable.  Make sure your goal can be measured.

A – Appropriate.  Make sure it fits you and is part of a bigger goal.

R – Realistic.  Set goals that can be achieved.

T – Timely.  Set a time limit for your goal.

So, instead of saying, “I want to exercise more,” a SMARTer way to state that goal is, “I will exercise 3 days a week for 30 minutes each day.”

Be as specific as possible.  And remember to start small!  Rome wasn’t built in a day!

What is your SMART goal for January?
